SUCCESSFUL SHOOT AT ROE VALLEY.


Roe Valley archery club put on their first field archery tournament at
Gortnamoyagh Forest in the Sperrins at the weekend. It was a FITA unmarked
round of 12 targets shot twice with some challenging shots. There was an
excellent turnout of approx 60 archers and 14 members of Ballyvally were
there and did well.Inthe junior section, Mark Nesbitt shooting freestyle at
the blue pegs shot an excellent 279 while Bronagh Campbell shot 204 in the
girls barebow class to both take gold.In the under 15 class, Kerry Sneddon
shot a very good 199 on the white pegs, Claire Hillen an excellent
251[compound barebow], while in the under 18 class shooting compound
unlimited, Gareth Nesbitt shot 177 all taking gold. Also taking gold In the
under 12 class, Peter Lavery shot an excellent 233 and Andrew Sneddon
[compound barebow] a very good 204. In the senior classes. Patricia Mulligan
shot 218 to win the ladies barebow and Robert Nesbitt scored 278 to come 2nd
in the gents barebow with Frank Mulligan 3rd on 255.

Next club practice for all club members and beginners will be on Thursday
night, 14th July, at Loughbrickland. Registration between 6.30 and 7.00pm.
