
PAT WINS MOST IMPROVED AT IRISH CHAMPIONSHIPS!

Ballyvally Archery Club sent 32 archers to the Irish Open at Drewstown
House, Co. Meath at the weekend.The club was very pleased with the results
and representative of the club was Patricia Mulligan who finished 2nd in the
ladies barebow class but who got the Jim Bolger trophy for the archer who
had improved their score by the most points since the last championship in
April 2004. Patricia HAD SCORED 308 IN 2004 AND HAD IMPROVED THAT SCORE BY
AN AMAZING 134 POINTS TO 443 THIS YEAR.Also in the top 6 improved archers
were anorher 3 from Ballyvally. Robert Nesbitt improved his barebow score
by
71 to score 466 while Alan Convery improved by 53 points to score 531 and
Eddie McClean by 43 points to score 340.
Peter Mulligan won the gents barebow with 606, Alan Convery was 3rd with 531
while Philip improving with ever tournament scored 493 to take 4th place.

ROOS DO WELL
Ballyvally juniors did very well with under 10 cubs David McMullen[Compound
barebow], Ciaran Heaney [compound unlimited] and Peter Lavery [barebow] all
claiming gold. Katie McClean did well to stay ahead of Emer Montgomery to
claim gold in the girls barebow section. In the under 15's Lauren Johnston
eventually came out on top for the girls with 392 while Rian Morgan did the
same for the boys with 302. Shooting the adult distances, Nathan Lemon being
5 points down after day one came through on the longer distances on day two
to eventually win the junior longbow section with 223. In the frestyle class
Mark Nesbitt scored 504 and Mairead Montgomery 283 to both win.In the girls
barebow class, Bronagh Campbell won as did Claire Hillen in the compound
barebow class and Chris Murray in the compound unlimited class. In the under
18 class shooting red pegs
Amy Lavery and Richard McMullen won as did Gareth Nesbiit who had a great
score of 292 on day one!
